It's Superman!
I haven't seen too much about this in fannish circles nor can I say too much about it as I have yet to get even a full chapter into it but new to the Library this past week was the novel IT'S SUPERMAN! by Tom DeHaven. This appears to be a serious attempt at a revisioning of the Man of Steel. Set in the 1930's, we meet young Clark Kent, coming of age in a racist small town in Kansas and eventually moving on to the bright lights of New York City as he comes to realize there's something different about him. That's about as much as I know about it at this point. Check your local comic shops, bookstores or Public Libraries for a copy and give it a try. We'll talk later.

Tom DeHaven wrote another superhero-themed book, "Joe Gosh". It is good, but it's the only thing I've ever read by him. I think I'd enjoy reading anything else he wrote. (off to ebay & half.com!)
