Bob Clampett's John Carter of Mars-1940's

Here is all the animation done for a proposed theatrical cartoon series based on Edgar Rice Burroghs' JOHN CARTER, WARLORD OF MARS. These cartoons were to be done by former Warner Brothers animator Bob Clampett who, instead, went on to do TIME FOR BEANY.

  1. Ahh, what might have been!If this series had gone ahead John Carter might have been as well known as Tarzan by now. Fascinating stuff!

  2. That would have been magical. I remember an episode of Cosmos about Mars in the '70's where Carl Sagan proclaimed himself a John Carter fan. Why has there never been a John Carter movie?!
