One of my all-time favorite female singers, here's the former "Mama" Cass with one of the few solo hits she had, introduced by the tragically hip Sammy Davis, Jr.
I had not heard that song in like 30+ years before hearing it on the 2nd season debut of Lost. It's been on my MP3 player virtually constantly since then; great bicycling song. Some of the lyrics are especially appropriate for her:
"It hangs them up to see someone like you..." "You've gotta make your own kind of music, even if nobody else sings along..."
First published in 1968 (I was 9!), I have been writing professionally part-time for more than two decades. I have been freelancing for various authors, editors and publishers for the past three years on the behind-the-scenes tasks of writing.
