The "New Look" Batman was such a
ReplyDeleteshocking change from what came
before...no more Batwoman, Bathound, Batgirl, Batmite, Sons
of Batman & Robin, etc.
But was it really such a success?
Barely a year and a half passed and
the Batman tv show forced the comic
books to camp it up; zaps and pows
were every damn where.
DC milked that dry, until O'Neil
and Adams gradually brought a new
old look to the Dark Knight. And
it's gotten darker and grimmer as
the decades pass.
No, the "New Look" was over before
it began; blink and you could miss it!
