I don't know about you but I found this mid-forties ad for a new type of musical instrument to be a hoot (or is that a toot?)! A quick check of the 'Net tells me the Gahoon apparently didn't catch on after all.
Out of curiosity, I googled 520 N. Michigan Avenue in Chicago (the mailing address for the Gahoon company), and found a ton of stores: Nordstrom's, Potbelly Sandwich Works, the Lego Store, Ethel's Chocolate Lounge. Then I discovered that the whole thing is actually a downtown shopping mall.
Wonder if it was just a mailbox drop back in the forties?
