Here's a sadly truncated scan of a 1979 holiday TBG cover featuring the late, lamented Alan (Jim) Hanley's GOODGUY, his version of the original Captain Marvel, in a nostalgic moment with Santa (as well as a fairly subtle Walt Kelly tribute).
Yeah, I still miss Mr. Hanley and his incredibly fun creations. I never met the guy, but he was the type of person that you just felt you knew. Died way, way too young. Say, why doesn't somebody collect his work and publish it? I don't know about anyone else, but I'd buy it!
First published in 1968 (I was 9!), I have been writing professionally part-time for more than two decades. I have been freelancing for various authors, editors and publishers for the past three years on the behind-the-scenes tasks of writing.
