This is what you should be doing for a job because you have a gift for bringing out interesting commments out of your interview subject. I think the fact that is not a huge star created the kind of climate where he could be open with you and not guarded.Cal's Canadian Cave of Coolnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08408150910056369989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15624230.post-749498272308402842009-07-30T13:19:58.132-04:002009-07-30T13:19:58.132-04:00I loved reading about Kip. He was one of the funniest people ever to grace the Groundling stage.<br />He was perhaps the only one who could get the audience laughing "on a roll," so to speak, and sustain it for around 20 minutes, until they were literally crying, and begging for mercy. I'm not exaggerating at all. He was so funny, that my dad asked him to perform at MY wedding! So Kip did his rabbi character, Dr. Abraham Stein, whose catch-phrase is "Hebrew is fine with Doctor Abraham Stein." He gave my husband and I advise, all improvised, of course. My father was laughing so hard he took out his hanky (yeah, the "hanky" generation) and cried his eyes out. In this interview, Kip has characterized his ability in the Groundlings very accurately: He could kill one night, and then be just normal funny the next. He couldn't really re-create what he did the night before. It's wonderful that he's teaching spontaneity in his classes. He's got oodles of it to give. -- Tracy NewmanTracy Newmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16056030145296789269noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15624230.post-54103931567863441962009-07-30T00:24:08.691-04:002009-07-30T00:24:08.691-04:00Great work.
