He was an Olympic Bronze medalist (1920) who late became a sports cartoonist and also dabbled in the Sunday Funnies, as seen here.<br /><br />"Feg" is something he appears to have picked up in his cartooning days, as he's mostly referred to as "Fred" in his earlier career as a hurdler.
